In Gujarat 2327 sq. m. = 1 Bigha

1 bigha = 0.625 acre and 1acre = 1.6 bigha
In north India ( Uttar Pradesh) Bigha is sub-divided into biswa; 20 biswas make 1 bigha and 32 biswas make 1 acre.

gujarat 1 biga =25591 sq feet, 1gunth=1089 sq feet,

In Punjab,
4Bigaha & 16 Biawa = 1 Acre

given below is as per universal conversion:
2.47 acre = 1 Hectares

1 Hectare = 10,000.00 sq mt.

Therefore,
1 Bigha = 5 Kotha = 100 Lessa = 14400 square feet




Now,
1 Hectare = 10,000 sq mtr = 107642.63 sq feet

So,
1 Hectare = 107642.63/14400 Bigha = 7.475 Bigha

In North India as per all school text books, One Acre is 4860 sq yards = 3 Bighas = 60 Cottahs

As per wikipedia in himachal pradesh it is 1 acre = 5 bigha
