3 million cm³

1 m = 100 cm
1 m³ = 100³ cm³
1 m³ = 1000000 cm³

Re: Cm cubed to meter cubed

hmm, there seems to be a large difference between JohnC's result and mine.
I know 1m = 100 cm,
so I know that 3 m = 300 cm.
now, I took 300 cm, and squared it, resulting in 90 000 cm, then multiplied that by 300 cm, resulting in 27 000 000 cm

3 m³ is NOT 3 m x 3 m x 3 m,
the exponent is only associated with the unit, not the number. It is 3*(1 m)*(1 m)*(1 m)

Re: Cm cubed to meter cubed

I'm not sure. an object, such as a rubix cube, that has 3 inches on a side ah, I had worked backwards the wrong way. I was thinking 3 cubic meters, not 3 meters cubed.. or possibly the reverse of that.. I DUNNO

Re: Cm cubed to meter cubed

It breaks down like this...

physics is the easiest math you'll ever do because your units will always tell you if you're right:

1m3 x 100cm/m x 100cm/m x 100cm/m

this way your meters cubed cancels out on the bottom and you end up with centimeters cubed on the top.

1000000cm3

cheers mate.

Re: Cm cubed to meter cubed

"3 meters cubed" means three cubic meters.

Three separate lots of one cubic meter.

Each cubic meter measures 100cm on each side.

100 x 100 x 100 = 1,000,000 cubic entimetres in each cubic meter.

There are 3 cubic meters so 3,000,000 cubic centimetres in total.
