You have to convert RPM to radians per sec, 2*pi*RPM/60

Putting it all together

HP = (2*pi)*T*RPM/(60*550) = T*RPM/5252.113

I tried that formula in the program QBasic and it didn't work.
How would you do this?
This is a question that might help some users.
I couldn't find anything so far in my search.....
Please help!

John's answer is correct. The short version of the formula is:

Horsepower = Torque * RPM / 5252.113

where Torque is in Ft-Lb and RPM is in revolutions per minute. The formula should work just fine in QBasic.

Depend on the torque produced at this rpm. See formula above.

What does 4,800 Rpms equal to I'm foot pounds of torque?
