Default IU to micrograms

The USDA nutrient data lab reports Vitamin D in IU. The National Academy of Sciences reports the amount of Vitamin D in micrograms. Do you know what IU is and how it can be converted to micrograms?

Thank you for your assistance.

That is different conversion for every type of drug or vitamin.

I did some searching, and found that for Vitamin D, 1 IU = 0.025 microgram

IU * 0.025 = micrograms

That is only for Vitamin D, and while I found that information on a trusted site, I am not sure it is correct.

The daily need of Vit. A is 1 mg which are 1000 micrograms which are 40 000 IUs. Therefore when spoken about Vit. A there is never referred to in micrograms or IU (= International units).
