a traditional unit of land area in South Asia. The bigha varies in size from region to another; in India it is generally less than an acre (0.4 hectare). In maharashta:a acre is of two bhigas ,a bhiga comprise of 20 gunthas and a guntha approximately is 1000 square feet ,this way a acre is 40k to 44k sq ft..no confusion ..
