Question conversion from ppm to psi

is it possible to convert from ppm to psi, atm, bar or Pa?

It would depend on what you are trying to do. Ppm stands for parts per million and describes the ratio of a mixture; a small amount of one substance is mixed in a large amount of another substance.

If both are gases, Dalton's law of partial pressures would say that the partial pressure of the small amount has the same relation to total pressure of the mixture as the ppm, which is a mole fraction. But the pressure of the mixtur must be given.

Actually i have measured dissolved hydrogen sulfide gas in water in ppm & i want to convert it in psi? is it possible?

If it is dissolved in water, there really isn't any psi.

You need to know the BHP (bottom hole pressure)

Partial Pressure of H2S [psi] = ppm H2S in GAS x (BHP[psi]/1,000,000)

Ca somebody provide the source of the formulae provided by "mafe": pH2S=ppm H2S x BHP/1,000,000, where BHP = Bottom Hole Pressure
