convert fabric construction to weight

i know there is a way to convert fabric construction to weight

but i misplaced the formula can anybody help pls.

for egy if i want to know the weight of a fabric with construction

45X45 / 120X60 what shud i do ?

What dimensions do you want the weight in, and what dimensions do you have already?

GSM= ((EPI/warpcount X 1.1) + (PPI/weft count x 1.04)) x 23.5

GSM = ((120/45 x 1.1) + (60/45 x 1.04)) x 23.5

GSM = 99.781

Ounce / sq yard = GSM / 33.91

if i got fabric weight ( gsm ) whether i can calculate count of warp and weft and ends per inch & picks per inch . please advise some calculation for the similar things

Hi,

I believe there is change in the calculating the GSM of the cloth ...

1] Cloth weight in GSM =[ EPI/Warp ct + PPI/weft ct ] x 25.6

using the above factors = [ 120 /45 + 60/45 ] x 25.6 = 102.14[GSM]
2] Oz. ounce per sq yard = [GSM/34 ]= 102.14 = 3.0.

Do you mean the size is rounded off, or the towel itself is circular?

You need the area of the towel in square meters. If rectangular 0.68 m x 0.68 m = 0.46 m². (If circular, multiply by pi/4, 0.36 m².

Multiply by the weight of the fabric, 500 g/m² x 0.46 m² = 231 g.

It will use 231 g of yarn, but I don't know how to calculate length. It would depend on the yard diameter and other specifications.
