How to convert cubic yards to cord wood measurement

Four cubic yards of wood = how many cords?

A cord is 4 x 4 x 8 feet of wood = 128 cubic feet

I don't think it is as simple as saying a yard = 3 feet therefore is 12 cubic feet of wood.

Thank you.

A chord of wood would be 4.741 cu yards, so if someone was selling 20 cu. yards of wood, it would be equivalent to 4.22 Chord..

1 Cord of Wood = 4' x 4' x 8' = 128 cu ft

128 cu ft / (9 cu ft / cu yd) =*14.22 cu yd per Cord

Cord = 128 ft³ is correct
However 1 yd³ = 27 ft³ (3x3x3), so 4.74 yd³
