15 kN/m = 1.5295743 tonne-force/m

I have a maximum floor loading of 4.0kN/m2 or a 9.0kn Point load - what would the conversion be into metric tonnes...??

Keep in mind that actual gravity varies with latitude and altitude above sea level. However, standard gravity is 9.80665 N/kg.

4 kN/m X 1 kg/9.80665 N = 407.9 kg/m
(for rough work, just divide by 10. It is "close enough" and slightly conservative.)

Could you please convert the following for me :-
1OO kN/m2 to Tonnes
80 Kn/M2 to Tonnes
50 Kn/m2 to Tonnes
40 Kn/M2 to Tonnes

Many Thanks

when going from Newtons to KG or Kilo Newton to Metric Tonnes, just devide by 9.81.
ie. 100kN/m2 = 10.2Mt/m2
etc .... note that your figures are given as a pressure, therfore you would need an area to determine the mass F=P*A

While the US does use the phrase "metric ton" in place of tonne, the symbol for either is "t," and both refer to 1000 kg. Symbols are invariant across languages. "Mt" is the symbol for megatonne or 10^9 kilograms, so above should be 10.2 t/m.
