Default kohms to ohms

need to convert .422 kohms to ohms - Is it simply 422?

yes. "Kilo", symbol "k" meas 1000 of something. Hence, Kilometer is 1000 meters, kilovolt is 1000volts, kilobyte (remember them?) is 1000 bytes etc.

Is the setting 200k on a digital multimeter the same as 2000 ohms?

No. "k" means 1000. It is the same as 200000.
