The density of uncooked rice is about 210 grams per cup. Thats about 4.4 grams per teaspoon.

250 milligrams would be about 1/20th of a teaspoon or so.

You may have meant 250 grams, thats about a cup.

about 1:5000

Surely that's not what you want to know though? - Here is the calculation. A metric cup is 250mL, so holds about 250g of water. There is 1000mg in 1g.

250g x 2/3 x 1000mg/35mg = 4761, close enough to 5000.

Re: Conversion from milligrams to cups

Ha! I just spent a half hour with a calculator trying to figure it out: what does 500mg equal in say teaspoons. But then it hit me: I take 200 mg tablets of ibuprofen for pain. A 200 mg tablet is not very big. Less than 1/8 a tsp.

I also sometimes take a 500 mg tablet of tylenol PM at night. That is not very big either. I took a 500 mg tablet out and laid it in a 1/4 tsp. measure from my kitchen drawer. That 500 mg tablet was less than half of 1/4 tsp, judging by eye. (I didn't grind it into powder or anything) So, milligrams are very small units of measurement, not amounting to cups or quarter cups, but more in the fraction of a tsp size.

didn't need the calculator. Just needed common sense.

though I did figure out, there's about 225 grams in one cup, give or take depending on mass.
