Default Conversion for g/kg

I am trying to interpret some data in the literature. The units given are 600 g/kg. Is this not 60%?

The next line gives a range from 150-250 g/kg. The logical response for this would be 2.5 or 1.5%, what am I missing about understanding the units of g/kg?

Default Re: Conversion for g/kg

600g/kg is 60% w/w ie 600g of materal A, 400g of material B

150 - 250g/kg is 15 - 25%w/w ie 150 - 250g of material A, 850 - 750g material B

Note: if it is chemical solutions, you can also have 200g/L, which is 20%w/v. this means you put in 200g of material A, then make the volume up to 1litre with solvent. Material A needs to be disolved, and the solution needs to be at room temperature before the final amount of solvent is added. In this case, you might use far more than 800mL of solvent, due to density of material A and volume changes during dissolution.

Case is important. Do you mean megagram (Mg) or milligram (mg)?
11 Mg = 11000 kg
11 mg = 0.000011 kg
