The valence of Na+ and Cl- ions are both one, so moles and equivalents are equal. Molar mass of NaCl is 58.443 g/mol.

140 mmol/L x 58.443 g/mol = 8.182 g/L
You'll have to multiply by volume taken for grams.

Molar mass of Na+ ion is 22.98977 g/mol so
3219 mg/L or 3.219 g/L

Yes if the ion has a valence (charge) of +1 or -1

An equivalent is equal to a mole of electrons donated or accepted. If charge is 2, then 1 mole = 2 equiv., if 3, then 1 mole = 3 equiv.

From post #2, molar mass of NaCl is 58.443 g/mol, ionic charge is 1, so moles and equivalents are equal for NaCl.

176 g x 1 mol/58.433 g = 3.012 mol = 3.012 eqv
(regardless of the volume of water, however if 1 L, then 3.012 eqv/L)
