I have a 5lbs. natural gas meter. How do I convert the cubic feet readings to therms.

The heat content of natural gas varies a bit well to well, ±5%, or so. However, it is ROUGHLY 1000 BTU per cubic foot, hence a therm (100,000 BTU) is about 100 ft³, often labelled CCF.

For a more accurate answer, you need lab analysis of the particular gas you are using.
