Soccer Calculations

Great site - hope you can help.

I am trying to establish a formula that can calculate ball possession in a game of soccer.

How can i build a formula that notes when one team has the ball, and then when they have lost it, credit the opposition players time with the ball.

Essentially i would like to have a percentage at the end of the game that says one team has X% and the other team has Y%

You would need two clocks to accumulate possession time for each team and a control circuit with three states:
*Accumlate time for team A
*Accumulate time for team B
*No time accumulation (time out, etc)

You would need an observer who makes that judgement and throws the switches.
