Dry gravel weighs approx. 1.425 tons/yd3

Water is heavy and S&G pits usually keep gravel damp for dust control. Scales love water! You'll probably be better off purchasing by the yd3
FWIW, for a driveway, whether it's covered with concrete or not, get crushed gravel. 3/4" base would be better still.
