Smile mg to ml

I want to convert mg to ml the substance is 10mg/ml so am I right in thinking
that if I wanted 10mg it would be 1ml and if I wanted 7mg would it be 0.7 or 0.75 ml. this is all so confusing. Please help

If the density of the substance is 10 mg/ml then:

x mg / 10 mg/ml = ml
x ml * 10 mg/ml = mg

So if you want 7 mg, then:
7 mg / 10 mg/ml = 0.7 ml
you would need 0.7 ml

If you have 7 ml, then:
7 ml * 10 mg/ml = 70 mg
you have 70 mg

tegretol syrup contains 2% carbamazepine in 100mls. how many mg is contained in 5mls?

The 2% could be mass/mass, mass/volume, volume/volume, etc. But Googling it is apparently 2% mass/volume, hence 2 g or 2000 mg in 100 mL,

Hence 5 mL x 2000 mg/100 mL = 100 mg.

All the Google links are labeled 100 mg/5 mL.

That is 2 x 5 mL, so 2 x 100 mg = 200 mg.
