If you do a two stage dilution, it is easier to handle the small amounts required.
You have 10mg/mL. If you dilute 100µL of this solution to 10mL, (a 100x dilution, 0.1mL/10mL) you now have 100µg/mL.
If you now take 0.7mL of this 100µg/mL solution, and make it up to 10mL (0.7mL/10mL) you have 7µg/mL.
If you don't have an accurate eppindorf pipetter and can only use glass ware, use 10x the volumes so you can use a 1mL pipette and a 7mL graduated pipette diluted into 100mL.
- Have recently discovered even experienced pharmacists are not great at using epindorfs. They are not well marked, and it is easy to be 10x out.
