How do I convert tenths & hundreth to inches
Example: finished floor elevation were taken at -0.02 how do I convert to inches.
0.01=
0.02=
0.03=

also
0.10=
0.20=

or is there a chart already set up

Try this convertor.

You just type what you want to convert. For example, type in:
Convert 10 inches to centimeters
and it will return:
10 inches = 25.4 centimeters

I never seem to remember it, but I think that is the one you need for your conversions.

The easiest way to think of decimals is 0.10 is like 1/10
0.01 is like 1/100 hope this was of some help.

Hi, are you talking about somewhere in the US? - Some other places use meters above or below a datum point. 0.01 might be 10mm, 0.1 might be 100mm.

0.02=.24=1/4
0.03=.36=3/8
0.04=.48=1/2
0.05=.60=5/8
0.06=.72=3/4
0.07=.84=13/16
0.08=.96=15/16
0.09=1.08=1 1/16

.1 = 1-3/16"

An inch is .083 of a foot. Or Eighty three thousandths. So you would do 6" times .083 which is .498. Pretty close to half a foot. Or to convert 5 tenths to inches you would take .5 divided by .083 which is 6.0240963855421686746987951807229. If you are talking about international survey foot.

Well, your 0.083 has too little precision and your 6.0240963855421686746987951807229 has way too much. Unless the 0.083 were known to be exact, more than two significant figures in the result is meaningless.

12" = 1' exactly, so 1" = 1/12 ft, or 0.08333..... a continuing decimal (to infinity). 0.5 ft = 6 inches, exactly.

I tried to post a link to a chart but the forum wont let me, so I hope this helps. In FF, elevations are considered above sea level. The feet are on left of decimal, inches on the right of decimal thus an elevation of 600.63 = 600' -7 5/8" above sea level. Now this elevation or any elevation can be called your benchmark and called 00.0 , using 0.02 above this mark would be called +0.02 and below this mark would be -0.02 , or +1/4" or -1/4"
For shooting grades a close rule of thumb is 1/8 of an inch = 0.01 so 0.02 = 1/4 and there's 8 of them in an inch. Now 12 inches in a foot must be divided into 10 parts so if 12"= 1'.00 then 6"= 0.50 or 1/2 a foot (2x6=12) and 3"= .25 or 1/4 of a foot (3x4=12) It's not rocket science it's construction if it varies slightly by an 8th or so, oh well, close enough. Of course, I'm thinking concrete and gradeing

You have to work in consistent units, either feet or inches. Since the gallon is defined in cubic inches, I'll convert the length to inches
20731 ft x 12"/ft = 248 772 in

Volume of a cylinder (pi/4)*D*d*L =
0.785 x 14 x 14 x 248772 = 38 295 474 in³

A gallon is 231 in³, so 165 781 gallons

I moving my lake cabin and waht i need to know is my grade elevation is at 1807.15 and i need to be at 1811.00 how many feet and inches up do i need to go with the top of my foundation??????????? thanks
