Clay conversion: tons in a cubic or metric yard

Hi,
I need to know how many tons are in one cubic and or a metric yard of dry excavated clay and while I am picking someones brain I may as well ask for the wet excavated clay conversion as well.

How much is a metric yard vs. a cubic yard?

I am looking to buy a lot of clay from a plot of land and I am trying to figure out the going rate per ton for clay in the southern U.S. as well as this conversion to aide in some number crunching.
