According to the rec.cooking.faq:

butter - 230 grams/cup
flour, US all purpose, 100 grams/cup
cornstarch - 150 grams/cup
sugar, powdered - 130 grams/cup

You calculate like this:
165 grams butter / 230 grams/cup = 0.7 cups
165 grams flour / 100 grams/cup = 1.65 cups
100 grams cornstarch / 150 grams/cup = 2/3 cups
90 grams powdered sugar / 130 grams/cup = 0.7 cups

Cool Re: grams to cups

Try using Robie Metric Units.

1 Robie spoon = 10 grams = 10ml = 10cc = 1 Robie Unit. (Based on water)

3 Robie spoons = 30grams = 30ml = 30cc = 1 Robie Metric Ounce.

1 Robie shot = 50grams = 50ml = 50cc = 1 Robie Metric Shot.

8oz = 1 cup = 250grams = 250ml = 250cc = 1 Robie Metric Cup = 25 Robies.

2 cups = 1 pint = 500grams = 500ml = 500cc = 50 Robies = 1 Robie Metric lb.

16oz = 1lb = 500grams = 500ml = 500cc = 50 Robies = 1 Robie Metric lb.

2 pints = 1 quart = 1 liter = 1000grams = 1000ml = 1000cc = 100 Robies

4 quarts = 1 gallon = 4000grams = 4000ml = 4000 cc = 400 Robies

Let me know if this helps.

You may need to start selling and shipping those Robie shot glasses.

So many people have trouble with recipes. U.S. cooks use volume and need help with U.K. recipes that use weight, and vice versa.

BIG HELP!!!!!
If you want to convert grams into cups go to google and type convert grams to ounces and then go to convert grams into OUNCES (Notice: 2ounces is equal to 1/4 cups, 4ounces is equal to 1/2 cups, 6ounces is equal to 3/4 cups and 8ounces is equal to one cup) so at the top where it says quantity type in the gram measurment and then put from grams to ounces, press convert. It will give you a decimal number. Round it.

For Example:
230 grams of sugar = 8.113 011 248 ounce
Therefore, we round it to eight, which would be one cup of sugar.
