Natural gas has an energy density between 800 and 1200 Btu/cubic foot.
cubic foot * 1000 Btu/cubic foot = Btu Btu / 1000000 = MMBtu Replace the 1000 in the above with the energy density of the natural gas, or just use 1000 for the approximation. |

Using the Higher Heating Value (assumes water vapor condensed and heat of vaporization is used), and 2000 lb/ton, that's 44.9 MMBTU/ton. |

But in large amount, you should really have a chemical analysis of the gas as heat content varies somewhat with gas from different sources. |

Make it clean and simple please! My question is how many CCF of natural gas equals 1 MMBtu of natural gas. No one has answered the question directly.
