convert cubic meters to square meters

I work construction and recieved a truck load of rock that was bought by the cubic meter. Our budget item pays buy the square meter. I know by the truck ticket how many cubic meters it is, so how do I convert it to square meters. It is not something we can measure with a tape.

square meter = cubic meter / height in meter

So just figure out how thick you want the rock spread, then convert that thickness to meters and use in the above formula.
