I found a page here:
http://www.nwes.com/propane_info.htm It says 4.24 pounds per gallon. I assume that is just a rough estimate for the small tanks of propane. As the true density will differ with temperature and pressure. |

It is approximately 0.51 times the weight of water which is 8.33 lb/gallon, or 4.25 lb/gallon. Divide by 4.25 to get gallons.

actually at 100lbs tank of LP will be 22.9 gal. Thats what i belive because thats what this tank lists.
Go to tractorsupply and click on 100 lbs tanks and it will show you that it holds 22.9 gallons so if it 22.9 gal = 100 lbs than it would be .229 gallons per pound. Or 4.366812227 Lbs per 1 Gallon Does everyone argree? |
