  • m3 calculation

    I need advice on the following:

    100cm x 100cm x 100cm x 1qty = 1.00m3

    The above calculation is what i have found from other website. Can someone advice how the answer 1.00m3 arrived when 100 x 100 x 100 x 1 = 1000000?

    Thx

    Re: m3 calculation

    If all units are the same, you just multiply.

    100 cm * 100 cm * 100 cm = 1000000 cm³

    1000000 cm³ = 1 m³

    So they just combined the two steps.

    You could also do it by converting to meters first:

    100 cm = 1 m

    1 m * 1 m * 1 m = 1 m³

        Just express in meters and multiply:
        0.68 m x 0.94 m x 0.85 m = 0.5433 m³

                If you want cubic meters, it is MUCH easier to measure in meters and multiply. However, since the legal definition of an inch is 0.0254 m (25.4 mm), we can convert each figure
                185.2" = 4.70408 m
                67.9" = 1.72466 m
                54.1" = 1.37414 m
                Volume = 11.148 m³

                Many shipping companies round any fraction to the next higher centimeter which would give
                4.71 m x 1.73 m x 1.38 m = 11.25 m³
