    Re: milliliters to teaspoons

Hi, 1.875mL is a VERY precise measurement. If you just want to know for curiositys sake how much it is, it is just over 1/3 of a metric teaspoon. If you are thinking of measuring this amount with a teaspoon, then I would have to reccommend caution. Why such a precise measurement? Is it for something important? - Sorry to be so discouraging

A measuring teaspoon (part of a set of measuring spoons) is 5 mL. Every set of measuring spoons I've seen for 20 years or more has been dual marked. A half-teaspoon is 2.5 mL and a quarter-teaspoon, 1.25 mL.

A common teaspoon (from a flatwear set) could be ANY size and probably isn't 5 mL. I would caution against trying to measure with a common spoon.

I need to apply a dry 15-10-10 fertilizer to a bed, using one pound of actual N per 1000 square feet, 3 times a year. If a 50 pound bag costs $8, what is the cost of just the fertilizer applied yearly to the 1000 square feet?

Since it is 15% nitrogen, 1 lb of nitrogen per 1000 ft² requires
            1 lb/0.15 = 6.7 lb of fertilizer per 1000 ft², 3 times per year or 20 lb/yr

            20lb/yr /50 lb * $8 = $3.20 per year

Might be a good idea if you read the first few posts in this thread. In reality, you need to talk to your Dr again, and get a suitable measuring device from the pharmacy when you get your prescription.

about 1 and 1/3 teaspoons, BUT you need to us a precise measuring set.
