    Incorrect Women's size conversions

I am a petite American female who has spent the last year living in England and I had to mention that the Women's clothing size conversion on this website is pretty inaccurate. As I said, I'm petite, so in the US I'm normally a size 00, 0 or 1 depending on the store and manufacturer. In the UK, I'm usually a size 6 or 8. But according to the conversions on here, which doesn't even including US sizes below a 2, I should be a US size 4 if I'm a UK size 6. I came back to the states in June so the clothing sizes are up to date and accurate since I went shopping in England just days before I returned to the states and again about a week after in the US.

I realize that America in particular has no standard clothing sizes and therefore it's difficult to have standard conversion sizes but this to me is extremely off base. If it were only off by one, maybe even two sizes, I wouldn't care so much to be posting this but the conversion is at least 3 sizes off, if not more in some cases.

All the data I find show it is correct.

    Try Fredericks of Hollywood here:

I am trying really hard to have accurate clothing conversions, its just so difficult when there is so much conflicting data.

Did the stores you shopped at have specific brands? I could try hunting down the manufacture size lists.

I had the same experience. I spent a year studying abroad in Scotland, and I'm a US size 2 but between a UK size 8 and 10 (usually on the 10 side). I haven't been able to find any accurate conversion charts. From what I understand, US sizes aren't what they used to be (I guess to make a largely overweight country feel better about themselves), so clearly conversions charts need to adjust to be accurate for the current sizes.

NZ sizes are the same as UK sizes.

Here is a chart from a Chinese company that is geared up for the American market. The feedback suggests their sizing is pretty accurate:
