How do I convert from daN to kN?
Is a daN = dekanewton?

That is indeed the symbol for dekanewton.
da is a metric prefix meaning 10, and kilo (k) is a metric prefix meaning 1000. So.....
dekanewton * (10/1000) = kilonewton
dekanewton * 0.01 = kilonewton
