That depends on the density of the substance. Is it air?

Hello, Can any one explain this conversion for natural gas??
Thanks

The density of natural gas at 0° C and 1 atmosphere pressure is between 0.7 and 0.9 kilogram/cubic meter.
1 kg/hr / 0.7 kg/m³ = 1.4286 m³/hr
1 kg/hr / 0.9 kg/m³ = 1.1111 m³/hr
1.4286 m³/hr / 28316.8466 = 5.045e-5 mmscf/hr
1.1111 m³/hr / 28316.8466 = 3.9238e-5 mmscf/hr
So the conversion factor would be between 3.9238e-5 and 5.045e-5

hello...
um... my data doesn't provide per hour...
it's said that the gas turbine consumes 52,300 mmscf...
how can i convert it into m3?? (meter cubic)
thank you

MMSCF stands for million standard cubic foot. The M is the roman numeral M, meaning 1000, so technically its a thousand thousand cubic foot, still equal to a million.
52 300 000 000 cubic foot = 1 480 971 080 cubic meters
The only problem being that MMSCF specifies temperature and pressure, while regular m3 does not.

you said that "MMSCF specifies temperature and pressure"
what id that means, is it means that i can find the temp and pressure just with the mmscf?

Hi,
I've read the conversion formula and wish to know what does the value 28316.8466 represents? Is it a factor?
Thanks.

Hello Poster,
There are 28316.8466 cubic meters in one million standard cubic feet. Since 1 foot = 0.3048 meter, the number is obtained as follows:
1000000 scf/MMscf × (0.3048)3 m3/scf = 28316.8466 m3/MMscf
So, if you have a volume stated in cubic meters, divide it by 28316.8466 to convert to units of MMscf.

hi
could you help me to convert 1 kg/hr of ntural gas @ 66.45 bara , 23 C and 53.25 kg/m3 to MMSCFD?
i got confusing with normal m3 and standard m3 ?
could you give me the way of calculation ?

Generally speaking, to convert gas in scf into meter cubes, you would use a factor of 35.315.
So, 1 scf = 35.315 m3. Conversely, 1 m3 = 0.028 scf.
For example, 53,000 MMscf = 53,000,000,000 x 35.315 = 1,871,695,000,000 m3.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

.
That is backwards since a meter is bigger than a foot.
35.315 scf = 1 m³

thank u for cooperation
what is mentioned above is about MMSCF to NM3 (normal cubic meter)
which is another story
i mean we need to convert nm3 to actual m3 which depends on
PV=ZnRT
am i right??
plz tell me

I need to compare the quality of this syngas to natural gas in BTU's.
How do you compare a rating of NET BTU/scf @ 14.696 psia 39.7 to natural gas????

See more detailed response in other thread. "Real" natural gas is around 1000 BTU/scf. 40 BTU/scf is a joke.
It appears to be 96% air, 4% natural gas.

how can I convert kg/hr to mmscf/hr
You can not convert those to each other , since dimensionally those are not equivalent. Kg meausres the weight or mass , while mmscf is a volume measurement ( million standard cubis feet)
