Multiply by the thickness in yards.

square yards * thickness in yards = cubic yards

Sorry, the answer above just didn't make sense to me.

Below is the calculation we use every day in converting concrete from square yards (area calcuation) to cubic yards (how concrete is sold to us) in order to figure out how much we need for a job:

Take total amount of square yards x 9 x depth (4" or 6" or 8",etc) then divide by 324 = cubic yards.

So, for example,

160 sq yds x 9 x 8" thickness / 324 = 35.55 cubic yards of concrete needed for job.

For this equation you wil need to turn you acres into square feet, you will also need whatever your height in feet will be.

43,560sq.ft.=1 acre

43,560*(number of acres)*(height in ft.) / 27=cubic yards

for example:

43560*10=435,600*10=4,356,000/27=161,333.33 cubic yards

i need to convert 3800 square yards of surface area to 2 inches of crushed stone cover - how many cubic yards of stone do i need?

Convert the 2" to yards (2/36)

3800 yd² x (2/36) yd = 211 yd³ (this makes no allowance for compaction).

This nisn't going to work.

I can't work it in english units, but 20 gal is about 76 L or 0.076m³. At atmospheric pressure 1 m³ weighs 1.29 kg. Your gas tanks won.t take high pressure maybe 2-3 atm. gauge. You'd be lucky to add a pound (over the weight of the tank itself.

Some idea to fill bed: packed snow, sand, cat litter. (It helps to have a use for the sand or cat litter when spring comes. Both can be used as a traction aid as well as for weight.)

need to convert 1000 acres 50ft deep to cubic yards

1 acre = 4840 square yard
1000 acres * 4840 = 4 840 000 square yards

1 yard = 3ft
50 feet / 3 = 16.667 yards

4 840 000 square yards * 16.667 yards = 80 668 280 cubic yards

Though once removed from the ground it will take up much more room.

help help please.. I am trying to figure out how to put 43560 into cubic feet going 1 ft deep.

43560 what? I am guessing square feet as that is the number of square feet in 1 acre.

43560 ft² x 1 ft = 43560 ft³m, but I can't tell if that is what you are asking

I have 140 cubic yards and need to convert it into square yards? What is the formula?

Area in square yards = Total volume / depth

For example, assume the 140 cubic yards will be spread to a depth of 6 inches

Area = 140 cubic yards / 6 inches * 36 inches/yard = 840 square yards

Convert all of your dimensions to yards and multiply:

24 feet / 3 feet/yard * 23 feet / 3 feet/yard * 4 inches / 36 inches/yard = 6.8 cubic yards.

Please note that when working with asphalt, the asphalt shipped in a truck will not be packed at the same density when packed as in a parking lot or road. The volume required to be trucked will be signficantly higher.

Convert 4 yds to cubic yards

The depth of the 4 yards is required to determine the cubic yards.

A pile of sand dumped by a hopper is cone-shaped. The top of the ple is 8 1/2 above the ground level. The diameter of the base is 18 1/4 wide. Convert the measurements to yards and determine how many cubic yards of sand are in the pile.

Multiply by 9 to get square feet, then multiply by thickness in feet to get cubic feet.
