That depends on the thickness.
cubic meters / thickness in meters = square meters

It is going to depend on shape details, which may be complex for a ship. For any shape with a floor area and vertical[/] sides, volume = area × height. If the sides are [U]not vertical, this statement is not true.
For non-vertical sides, the area is different at different depths making volume computation tricky. With enough shape and dimensional detail, it can be estimated pretty well.

So, it has three dimensuions, length, width, height, and the product of the three is 2.76 m³. You can decide two of them pretty arbitrarily and the third is fixed by the volume requirement. But it could have a floor area of 1 m² and height of 2.76 m, or a floor area of 2.76 m² and a height of 1 m, or numerous other combinations including a perfect cube, 1.403 m on a side.
There is no formula to "convert," until you specify two of the three dimensions.

This has to be either a troll post or a homework question.
You must specify a unit of measurement for the brick dimensions. mm? cm? m? inch? If it's any of those, it's one heck of a brick!
m2 is area (two-dimensional). Length * width * depth will yield volume (three-dimensional). See post #14

I need to convert 1 cubic metre to the equivalent in square metres. Pine bark is sold bulk in cubic metres. But if you buy by the bag, a 70 litre bag apparently covers 5 square metres of soil if layed at a thickness of 75 to 100mm. Thanks.

70 L = 0.07 m³. If you are covering 5 m², I would expect it to only cover 0.07 m³/5 m² = 0.014 m (14 mm). The exception would be if it is highly compressed in the bag and "fluffs up" when removed. I don't think pine bark does that. However, bales of peat moss are compressed and the material expands when removed.
For any shape area with vertical sides, volume = area x height. You can re-arrange to solve for any of the three, given the other two.

Depends on the thickness, which needs to be expressed in meters.
Divide the volume 0.1 m³ by the thickness to determine area in square meters which will be covered. Then divde the £10.01 price by that area to get price per square meter. (meter = metre, it is just US/UK spelling difference)

Then divide by the thickness (in meters) to determine the area that will be covered at that thickness. It only works if the thickness is uniform.

Jennifer,
First you need to say how DEEP your 180 square meters is. For instance, let's say you have an area 13 meters wide and 14 meters long and you want to know how much sand to cover this area. You can see that it depends on how DEEP you want the sand to be. So, say you want the sand to be 1cm deep (this equals .01m). You just multiply 13 X 14 X .01 and you get 1.82. You need 1.82 CUBIC meters of sand. If, instead, you want the sand to be 3cm deep, you multiply 13 X 14 X .03 and you get 5.46. You need 5.46 CUBIC meters of sand to cover your area with sand 3cm deep.
So, you see, you need a third number. It's 13m wide and 14m long and ??? deep. You need THREE numbers to get a CUBIC measurement.

You need more information. you can have something thats 100 cubic meters but 100 meters tall and its top surface area will only be 1 meter
you can have something 50 meters tall, its top surface area will be only 2 meters. etc
you havea volume, aka, 3 dimensions. you CANNOT just CONVERT to a 2 dimensional value without the introduction of another bit of information
you need to figure out how much your volume is spread out before you can calculate how much area it will cover.
if you are trying to find the TOTAL SURFACE AREA of the volume, and you know its spherically shaped, thats something different. you know the volume of asphere is (pi*d^3)/6 and that the surface area of a sphere is pi*d^2. So if you have a SPHERICAL VOLUME, solve for its diameter, then solve for its surface area.
if it is a square shape, completely perfectly cubic, all sides equal, then proceed just the same as with te sphere, find its volume, then find the lengths of the sides, then sum the areas around the cubic shape.
but if the geometry of the volume is NOT known, you CANNOT just CONVERT to area.
if you wanted to get complicated with it, it is the sum of all of the differential volumes created by the product of the instantaneous area with respect to height multiplied by the thickness of the differential volume, all the way from the bottom to the top.
aka, the definite integral from 0 to H of the Area (which may or may not be a changing function with respect to height) times the differential height, dH.
but thats calculus.

i would love to know the train tracks or dimensional analyses to converting 250mm && 224mm into m2
It depends on the shape of the object. If those are the length and width of a rectangle you get one answer, if they are the major and minor diameters of an ellipse, you get a different angle.
I don't know what you mean by "train tracks" but assuming they are the length and width of a rectangle. rewrite both in meters, 0.25 m and 0.224 m, and multiply. The area is 0.056 m²
Alternatively you can multiply dimensions in millimeters and divide by 1 000 000 mm²/m², getting exactly the same answer.

I divide by the height or thickness. That assumes vertical walls, and the volume can be characterized as an area times a height.

That depends on the thickness.
cubic meters / thickness in meters = square meters
tree timention.
14 metter hinght
the circunsference or diamteres is 60 centimeter
we need the formule to get cubic metter.
or to find out whow many cubic meter i can get from that tree

Since 1 L = 1 dm³, it is easier to think of it as 27.5 dm diameter and 55 dm length.
V = (pi/4)*D*D*L = 32700 L (approx)
(Or you can work in meters, get cubic meters and use 1 m³ = 1000 L. Same answer.)

45.5 square feet means how much cubic meter
No way to tell because you haven't specified thickness.
45.5 ft² is an area, and in square meters, 4.227 m²
In either units, you have to multiply by thickness (in proper units) to get volume.

hw to convert rates for cu.mtr to sq.mtr? is there any particular formula?
To convert cubic meters to square meters, you have to divide by the thickness (in meters). If you know the area, you have to divide the cubic meters by the area (in meters) to get the thickness.
For example, if you have 1 cubic meter, and you want to cover an area that is 5 square meters, the thickness will be 1/5 = 0.2m thick (200mm).
If you have 2 cubic meters, and you want to know what area will be covered at 150mm (0.15m) thick, the area will be 2/0.15 = 13.3m².
If you want to cover an area of 15 square meters at a depth of 50mm, you will need 15 x 0.05 = 0.75 cubic meters.
Hope this helps, you can post back and check your particular situation of you like. :).

Dear Friends,
Suppose you have 1 cubic meter is there with you, to convert into Sq mts, you should have the thickness in meters.. it varies with thickness
Ex 1: 1 cu. m and the thickness is 0.15 mts then area is 1/0.15= 6.67 sq mts
Ex 2: 1 cu. m and the thickness is 0.203 mts then area is 1/0.203 4.93 sq. mts
to cnvert sq mts to cu. mts again the thickness is reuired and now you need to multiply them

its not possible becausesquare meters is area and cubic meters is volume.
area formula:length x width ( LxW)
volume formula: length x width x hight ( LxWxH)
to change area to volume you wold need to know the hieght.
