I need to know how to convert our different types of rock and sand from tons to cubic yards.

You would need to be fairly specific so I can look up the density of the material.

Here are some examples:

Sand, wet - 120 lb/ft³
Sand, wet, packed - 130 lb/ft³
Sand, dry - 100 lb/ft³
Sand, loose - 90 lb/ft³
Sand, rammed - 105 lb/ft³
Sand, water filled - 120 lb/ft³
Sand w/ Gravel, dry - 108 lb/ft³
Sand w/ Gravel, wet - 125 lb/ft³
Gravel, loose, dry - 95 lb/ft³
Gravel, w/sand, natural - 120 lb/ft³
Gravel, dry 1/4 to 2 inch - 105 lb/ft³
Gravel, wet 1/4 to 2 inch - 125 lb/ft³
