To be precise, I need to understand the conversion for spring rate to K (as in spring rates of 396 PSI front, 336 PSI rear assuming spring rate is measured in PSI) to its equivalant K spring rate (as in 6K or *k or 5k/3K)...

Thanks.

Spring rate is not specified in pounds per square inch, but in pounds per inch. In metric, it specified in newtons per meter.

An air spring may require an associated internal pressure for certain performance, but its spring rate is still lb/in.

Using a hydraulic press, I measured the psi required to snap pieces of wood. The press had a 3 1/4" ram (the part that presses down on the wood). Thus, it wasn't just measured as 100 psi, it was 100 psi on a 3 1/4" ram.

When converting the number to kg/cm2, would the conversion be the same?
I'm assuming that I would use the same formula, but say kg/cm2 on a 3 1/4" ram. I just wanted to run it past you before I submit the results.

Thank you

No, but they are close and on a gauge, might appear to be the same.

1 bar = 100 kPa.

1 kg/cm² = 98.0665 kPa It involves using the kilogram as a unit of force and is therefore a deprecated unit. It should not be used.

150psi means how manyKg/cm2

150 psi x 6.89476 kPa/psi = 1034.2 kPa

The use of the kilogram-force in units of force, pressure, etc is deprecated, 1 kgf/cm² = 98.0665 kPa, so 10.5 kgf/cm².

1 pound/square inch = 0.0703 kilogram/square centimeter

you can get kg/cm2 by deviding 14.22 by the psi.like this 64 psi divided by 14.22 equles 4.5 kg/cm2.

You are correct. The kilogram is a unit of mass. All applications of the kilogram as a unit of force (kgf) are deprecated in the International System of Units, and should be avoided. However, it is still commonly used in Europe, and is found in a lot of existing data. It should always be converted to pascals (with suitable prefix)
1 kg/cm² = 98.0665 kPa.

hi friends, the correct conversion is 1 kg/cm2 = 14.22 psi {or roughly i kg/cm2 =15psi}

for example, when you fill your vehicle tubes 30 psi , you are having pressure of about 2 kg/cm2.
