cc stands for cubic centimeters and you can find that on the volume conversion page.

1500 cubic centimeters = 1.5 liters = 51 ounces = 6.3 cups

Hi, it might be a good idea to check with the hospital and find out if this is a maximum or a minimum amount they want him to have. After most medical procedures, they like you to have plenty of fluid. Most recommendations are to have enough so that your urine is pale coloured (sorry for too much information).

Actually, most bottled water and soda is in round metric sizes, 500 mL, 1L, 2 L, etc. However, by law, it must be dual marked in metric and US Customary. A 500 mL bottle of water (or soda) is also 16.9 fl oz. Those "net contents" are actually useful.

Thus 1500 mL is 50.7 fl oz.

Close enough, if you don't mind reasonable rounding.
8 oz = 236.6 mL would be a little more precise.

Just wanted to thank the person who asked the original question and those who took the time to answer.

My mother was told today to drink no more than 2000 cc of liquids because she has low sodium, but she is also dehydrated. I didn't have a clue how much that would be.

Thanks again!

2000 cc = 2 L. Look at the dual label on a 2 L soda (or water) bottle. You will see it is 67.6 fl oz, or just over 2 quarts (64 fl oz).

cc and mL are the same unit. Using two exact definitions for a US gallon, 1 US gallon = 128 fl oz = 3785.411 784 mL, proceed as follows:
1600 mL x 128 fl oz/3785.411 784 mL = 54.1 fl oz

(the conversion factor is exact, so this can be carried to whatever precision is warranted by the starting number)

How would an average person know how many ounces are in 1200 cc's or better yet why don't they say so many cups of liquid instead of cc's?

How would an average person know how many ounces are in 1200 cc's or better yet why don't they say so many cups of liquid instead of cc's?

Since 95% of the world's population measures in the metric system, the "average person" wouldn't know what a cup is (and the US cup is different from a cup in Australia or Great Britain). Do you mean "average American?"

A measuring cup is about 237 cm³ (probably ok to round to 240). Thus about 5 cups. Note: My measuring cups are marked in cups (fractions), fluid ounces, and milliliiters (or cubic centimeters)

Random coffee cups from your cupboard may be any size.

Method 2: Look at 1 L or 2 L soda or water bottle. From the convenient dual net contents declaration, note they are 33.8 and 67.6 fl oz respectively. By ratio 1.2 L x 67.6 fl oz/2L = 40.6 fl oz. Remembering than 1 cup = 8 fl oz exactly, again about 5 cups.

How many ounces is 400 cc?

400 mL x 1 fl oz/29.5735 m = 13.526 fl oz
(A milliliter is same as cubic centimeter. I assume you mean the US fluid ounce, Imperial is different.)

Note that most measuring cups are marked in milliliters as well as ounces.

How many ounces in 800 cc's.

US or Imperial fluid ounces?

800 mL x 128 US fl oz/3785.411 784 mL = 27.05 US fl oz

800 mL x 160 Imp fl oz/4546.09 mL = 28.16 Imp. fl oz

Most measuring cups have a metric scale as well
1 oz = 29.57 mL
8 0z (1 cup) = 236.59 mL

1000 mL = 33.8 fl oz (just like on a 1L bottle of water or soda.

A fluid ounce or avoirdupois ounce (weight, 1/16 pound)?
1 fl oz = 29.57 mL (or cc)
For weight, you have to know the density

Imperial or US fluid ounces? (they are different) See method in post #31, just substitute 1500 mL for 800 mL and redo the math. Most measuring cups are marked in milliliters, too, just use the mL scale.

(52.8 or 50.72, depending)

Milliliters and cubic centimeters are the same thing, so 15 mL.
That is approximately 1/2 fl oz, 0.507 fl oz, if you wish a little more accuracy
