It depends on what your stereo requires.

If your stereo requires 8 ohm speakers then you do not want to attach 4 ohm speakers (unless they are connected in serial). And if your stereo requires 4 ohm speakers you do not want to connect 8 ohm speakers (unless they are connected in parallel).

You would end up blowing out the speaker or stereo.

Though if you were asking which type of speaker sounds better, I have no idea.
