Well traditional Chinese signs are based on the years you were born, not the months as is the western traditional signs.

2005 was the year of the Rooster. Everyone born in 2005 takes the sign of the Rooster. 2006 is the year of the Dog, and everyone born this year takes the sign of the Dog.

You are probably familiar with western zodiac signs, such as Pices, Aries, Scorpio, Libra, etc. Same thing but that is more monthly not yearly.

I should have the Chinese zodiac page up soon, I estimate 2 or 3 days at the longest.

hi zeus, this is with regards to the accuracy of the chinese zodiac sign page... even if it is accurate or not, it is created just for fun;) ... i think we shouldn't base compatibility with others solely on zodiac sign:D

If not too much to ask, is it possible to have it updated from time to time. I mean, just like normal horoscope for zodiac sign there is a day to day updates or predictions...Like I am virgo, what things will might happen to me for tomorrow or the like.

Chinese zodiac signs will never change.

Western astrology is for predicting the future based on the position of the stars. The Chinese signs are not.

Though of course I am not an expert on it. The Chinese astrologers may also believe about predicting the future, but I do not believe so.

The exact Chinese zodiac sign does not only depend on the year of birth. We have to look at the month & day as well. For those who were born in January and February, they may belong to the sign of the previous year.

For example, born on 17th Feb 2007 ---> Dog, born on 18th Feb 2007 ---> Pig, as 18th Feb is the Chinese New Year (Day 1) of 2007 for the Chinese.

The Chinese people have their own calendar calculation and the Chinese New Year Day may vary from late January to late February each year.

I decided to try your site for fun and it was great for regular conversions, until I tried the Chinese Zodiac page. I've known mine for ages but love to see what others write about my sign (Fire Dragon).

I was rather disappointed that you only had the year option to enter as it is based on the Chinese year which means people born in Jan/Feb need to take into consideration when the Chinese New Year was for the year of their birth.

Then when I checked out these forums to let you know, I found someone had posted something similar in 2007 but no changes have been made to the page.

To make it more accurate, you can get the detailed dates from the Wikipedia page about 'Chinese Astrology'.
