Hi
I've looked a trailer for the "2012". I was interested in this theme.
Please advise me a good site on this topic.
And what do you think about the end of the world 2012.
Thanks.

The History Channel has had some great programs on 2012 and I think there were also some on Discovery.
This link will take you to the Histroy Channel site.

You might like to see this, it's from Discovery Channel it is more like an ad for a movie.

Hi
And what do you think about the end of the world 2012.
Thanks.
So, I'm a complete skeptic. The Aztec calendar needs to add a digit to the the notation, just like the Julian calendar had to add a digit when the year rolled over from 999 AD to 1000 AD. The world didn't end then either. nor will it at the end of 9999.

I really enjoy watching things like that but I also like science fiction too.
I think of it as another theory. Most theories are just guesses anyway.

It looks like 2012 is going to be a real bomb. I’m probably going to go watch it anyway, in the hope that it turns out to be “so bad it’s good” (like Robocop 3, Ninja Hunt or the 1966 Batman movie)
And judging from the TV spot, 2012 is going to be pretty bad. I mean seriously, did you see the part with the plane flying through the city as it crumbles, and slipping in between the collapsing buildings? Did the pilot forget that planes can go up, or what?
Anyway, failing the “so bad it’s good” factor, I’m hoping I can at least get some entertainment from the “new age” and “conspiracy theory” loonies I’m sure I’ll encounter at the premiere showing.

If you mean that by the popular definition of ‘theory’ then I agree. If you mean it by the academic definition, then I beg to differ.

This is another article about 2012, that might be interesting.
Just think of it as science fiction and have a little fun with it.
According to this article the Mayans don't think the world will come to an end.

I think the movie looks alright....Nothing too special though.
And yeah I think there is just alot of hype out there about the world ending in 2012. I mean it's gotten more publicity lately since it's getting closer and closer...Also the Nostradamus thing combined with the Aztec calender and other calenders make it seem convincing...I'm pretty sure we're all safe though :)

Every generation finds predictions that match events happening in their time.

I agree and think most people want to find these so they invent some things or try to shape current events to fit end time events.
You know, the sad thing is that you know damn well that come 2011 to early 2012 we're going to see a huge spike in cults and mass suicides because people are so convinced that 12-21-12 is the end of the world.
As far as I'm concerned, every other prediction in history of the end of the world has been totally wrong, so the odds aren't looking very good for this one. It's only scary if you're superstitious. And an idiot.
Almost forgot, check out more information on wikipedia.

Yes you are definitely correct. I'm sure people are going to stay up all night just like when 1999 came around, and the Y2k scare was present.
